Fredonia man injured when vehicle hits tree

CHAUTAUQUA—A Fredonia man who suffered an undisclosed medical incident at about noon Wednesday on Hartfield-Centralia Road was injured when his vehicle crashed into a tree, Chautauqua County sheriff’s officials said.
Walter G. Pfleuger, 87, of East Main Road, was traveling south when his vehicle crossed the road and crashed into hedges and then the tree, deputies said.
Pfleuger was taken initially to Westfield Memorial Hospital, then flown to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa. Details of his injuries and condition were not released.
