NIAGARA FALLS—City police are continuing to investigate the shooting death of a Buffalo man early Saturday near Niagara Avenue and Main Street.

Jacobi L. Lovett, 36, of Stanislaus Street, was found in the doorway of a convenience store at Main and Niagara shortly after 1 a. m., and was later pronounced dead in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

Police said they believe Lovett was shot once in the upper left leg while in a car near Niagara and Main. The car was later found behind a home on Cleveland Avenue a few blocks away.

Detectives were continuing to work the case on Sunday, Detective Capt. Ernest C. Palmer said.
