THE BOX. Cameron Diaz, James Marsden and Frank Langella star in the thriller about an unhappily married couple who receive a box that can bring them instant wealth, but also kills someone. DISNEY’S A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Jim Carrey, Gary Oldman, Colin Firth and Robin Wright Penn “star” in this motion-capture animated film from Robert Zemeckis that’s based on the classic Charles Dickens story about the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge. 96 minutes (Rated PG for scary sequences and images.) THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS. George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor and Kevin Spacey in Grant Heslov’s wild black comic satire based on a best seller about a military unit of “psychic spies” trying to create a New Age way of warfare for a new century. “Just look at the cast. That’s enough, right there, to get your attention. Whether or not ‘more of this is true than you would believe’ (as the film claims), it’s a minor but solid success. It’s wild enough in its crazy claims of reality to make it a whole lot better than some films that are its kissing cousins including Soderbergh’s ‘The Informant’ and David O.
