A woman who served seven years in prison for slashing two Buffalo girls was sentenced Thursday to 60 days in jail for stealing designer sunglasses from a Walden Galleria boutique Sept. 18, 2008.

Nakiesha A. Jones, 31, of Weston Avenue, stole designer sunglasses worth $1,200 from the Solstice Sunglass Boutique. Erie County Judge Shirley Troutman imposed the sentence.

A jury on Sept. 3 found her guilty of misdemeanor charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. Prosecutor Jaime L. Gallagher said Jones was arrested at the mall at about 1 p. m. the day of the theft, which was captured on a surveillance camera.

On Oct. 19, 1995, Jones was sentenced to up to nine years in prison in the slashing of two teenage girls in July and September 1994. The victims, like Jones, had children fathered by the same man.
