It is troubling to find that Bishop Edward Kmiec once again refuses to provide a vacated church for the Traditional Catholic organization Una Voce. According to Article Seven of Pope Benedict XVI’s 2007 Summorum Pontificum, a bishop or local ordinary is strongly suggested to satisfy the wishes of a group of faithful wishing to celebrate according to the pre-1962 liturgy, should current provisions be unsatisfactory.

A parish for those adhering to the aforementioned rite would not only offer Mass, but would also provide sacramental care and catechism in accordance with it. Neither is currently provided by any diocesan parish. In this time where liberalism and moral degradation is becoming more commonplace, it seems only fit to provide for the needs of a growing group of faithful who wish to raise their families in a conservative and traditional atmosphere. It is upsetting that his excellency finds it fit to market churches to other faiths and to secular organizations, yet refuses to give a home to a group of faithful Catholics.
