JAMESTOWN—Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies charged a 21- year-old woman with driving while intoxicated after a chase on Fluvanna Avenue.

Deputies said they tried to stop the speeding vehicle driven by Kelly A. Carlson, 21, of Stears Street, Jamestown, early Saturday. But, deputies said, she tried to elude them by passing a vehicle on a blind curve and running a red light at high speed at about 12:58 a. m.

Deputies said that when Carlson did stop they found her to be intoxicated. She also was charged with speeding, failure to comply with emergency lights, passing in a no-passing zone, failure to stop at a red light and reckless driving.

Carlson also was the subject of an arrest warrant from the Town of Chautauqua, deputies said. She was taken to the county jail on $2,000 bail.
