Two Buffalo men were arrested late Thursday after they were caught in a stolen car at Strauss and Sycamore streets, state police said.

The driver, James Izel Jr., 24, was stopped for a traffic infraction and found to be driving a 2000 Dodge Intrepid that was stolen on Oct. 6, said police, who added that Izel was driving drunk with a blood alcohol level of .08 percent.

A passenger in the vehicle, Deven L. Fletcher, 24, was wanted on Buffalo police warrants for criminal possession of stolen property, police said.

Izel and Fletcher were also charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal possession of stolen property. They were taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.
