Orchard Park at Riverside -- Friday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m.

Frontiers are right back at it in Week Five, hosting the 2008 state champ

Cheektowaga vs. Burgard -- Sat., Oct. 16, at Riverside, 2 p.m.

Week Seven showdown closes out regular season in crowded Class B (21 teams).

Niagara Falls at Riverside -- Friday, 7 p.m.

Up-and-coming Wolverines visit as new era opens with dedication of Charlie Dingboom Field.

Grand Island vs. McKinley -- Friday, Sept. 17, at Riverside, 7 p.m.

Traditional Western New York powers meet in Week Three.

Runners-up: Lockport at Riverside on Friday, Oct. 8, is a Week Six battle that should affectthe playoff race. ... Two doubleheaders in Week Four on Saturday, Sept. 25 -- at Riverside (Cleveland Hill vs. Grover Cleveland, 10 a.m.; Depew vs. South Park, 2 p.m.) or All High (Clarence vs. Bennett, 1 p.m.; Amherst vs. Lafayette, 4 p.m.).

Where you're going

All High Stadium

History lesson: The stadium opened in 1929,  was used to depict Wrigley Field in "The Natural," and went through major renovations that were completed in 2007.

Game time: There is a historic feel just walking into the stadium and watching the game from beneath the huge overhang (just don't sit behind one of the girders).

How to get there: Stadium is behind Bennett High School at 2885 Main St., 1 1/2 miles north of Route 198. From I-90, take the 33 West, merge right to the 198 and stay to the right to Main Street. From I-190, take 198 West to Main Street, exit on the right.

From the North or Amherst/Williamsville, take I-290 (or Millersport Highway) to Main Street and continue through University Heights; Bennett is on the left just past Hertel Avenue intersection.

Where to park: There are lots on the North side of the school as well as street parking on Mercer Avenue and Hill Street.

Pre- and postgame meals: The Lake Effect Diner and The Steer, as well as fast food options, are on Main Street just north of Bennett; Central Park Grill is just south; several options are a short drive down Hertel.

Riverside Field

History lesson: It's a new era on a new field. A two-year, $30 million renovation includes a turf field, bleachers and an adjacent building that houses locker rooms and the press box.

Game time: The seats are so close to the action that fans will get a great view of all the dings and the booms -- that's because there is no track surrounding the turf.

How to get there: Riverside is at 51 Ontario St., right off the I-190. From the South, take either the Amherst or Austin Street exits and head north on Niagara Street, make a right on Ontario Street. From the North, take the Ontario Street exit, cross Niagara Street and the school is on the right.

Where to park: A small lot next to the school was expanded with the construction; there is also street parking off Humphrey Road.

Pre- and postgame meals: Niagara Street has Faso's as well as fast food. If you really want to celebrate a big win, Harry's Harbour Place Grille is perched on the water right across the I-190.

Johnnie B. Wiley Sports Pavilion

Former site of War Memorial Stadium at Jefferson and Best hosts just three games, one each on Saturdays in Weeks Three through Five. All games feature Burgard, East or JFK.

For city fans heading to Section VI

Top 10 trips

Burgard at Depew -- Friday, Sept. 10, 7:30 p.m.

City's best small school program against one of WNY's best in a B Central showdown at the Wildcats' fantastic facility, which is very new (and very blue).

A Pick Three in Week Six -- Friday, Oct. 8.

Hutch-Tech kicks off at 7 at North Tonawanda, home of perhaps the finest high school football atmosphere in WNY; Burgard is at Lackawanna's vaunted Veterans Stadium in a tremendous nonleague matchup at 7:30 p.m.; Lafayette is at Williamsville South for the Billies' air show also at 7:30.

Bennett at Lancaster -- Friday, Oct. 1, 7:30 p.m.

Tigers will learn in Week Five why Foyle-Kling Field has a claim on that top spot to watch a game in WNY.

McKinley at Sweet Home -- Saturday, Oct. 2, 2 p.m.

Another great Week Five stop includes traditional powers who have had memorable basketball battles at Buffalo State.

South Park at Cheektowaga -- Friday, 7 p.m.

Sparks visit the defending B champs in best place to watch a game that's adjacent to a giant shopping mall.

Hutch-Tech at Lockport -- Saturday, Sept. 25, 2 p.m.

Engineers and Lions, two teams that historically are in the middle of things, meet at Lockport's fine Emmett Belknap Field.

Going the extra miles in Week Three -- Friday, Sept. 17

Some serious road trips are in store as city teams are guests for Southern Tier home openers. Bennett plays at Jamestown at 7 at Strider Field, where every game is an event. Grover Cleveland follows its Week One trip north to Wilson with a 7:30 game at Allegany-Limestone, home of the Gators.
