WINNING COMBOS— You won’t have to go to Disney World to admire the talents of Mount St. Mary Academy’s award-winning Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band and Dance Team. They’re performing at 8 p. m. Saturday in the student auditorium at the school, 3756 Delaware Ave. Town of Tonawanda.
Tickets are $8 advance, $10 at the door, and help pay for the groups to travel in April to Disney World, where the Marching Band—the only all-girl marching band in New York State— will be featured in the showcase parade.
Before the concert, stop in the school cafeteria from 5 to 8 p. m. for the Italian dinner, an all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball meal, including salad, bread and butter, coffee, tea and lemonade. Beer, wine and pop can be purchased. For tickets, call 877-1358.
BENEFIT—A benefit for Roxanne Moden, a mother of four who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, will be held from noon to 7 p. m. Sunday in Ridgeway Recreation Hall, located at the corner of Route 104 and Horan Road in Medina. There will be live music, auctions, a raffle, buffet dinner, bake sale and door prizes. There is a $10 donation for adults, $5 for children, and children under 5 are free. To donate or for other information, call Jennifer Martin, 940-8475.
SPAGHETTI SEASON— Start working up your appetite. There is a multitude of pasta dinner fundraisers coming up this weekend. They include:
Brighton Community Church, 1225 Brighton Road, Town of Tonawanda, hosts a Free Community Spaghetti Dinner from 4 to 7 p. m. Saturday. Also hayrides for all ages and a theme basket raffle with drawings at 7.
The Sisters of St. Francis (Williamsville) benefit from a spaghetti dinner from 11 a. m. to 6 p. m. Sunday in Our Lady of Peace Church, 10950 Main St., Clarence. Tickets are $8 adults, $5 kids under 10. Also door prizes, theme baskets, auctions and “Nun-Sweeter” bake sale.
The Holy Name Society of St. Stephen’s Church, 2080 Baseline Road, Grand Island, holds a Pasta Extravaganza from noon to 6 p. m. Sunday in the school cafeteria. In addition to spaghetti and meatballs, there’s pasta alfredo, pasta primavera and pasta supremo, with salad, bread, coffee, tea and dessert. Tickets are $7 adults, $6 seniors, $4 kids 6 to 12, youngsters 5 and under free. Also a basket raffle and bake sale.
Hank Nowak Post 45, AM-VETS, 3071 Abbott Road, Orchard Park, is sponsoring an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 1 to 5 p. m. Sunday to support the Buffalo Veterans Court. Tickets are $7 adults, $3.50 kids under 12, under 3 free. Also a silent auction.
The Brighton Place fifth annual spaghetti dinner from 1 to 6 p. m. Sunday in Rizzo’s Restaurant, 2763 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda. Tickets are $10 advance, $12 at the door. Also a silent auction and Night Out discount books. Proceeds benefit the Brighton Place library and community resource center.
