Amherst driver faces DWI and felony charge
Updated: August 21, 2010, 2:34 AM
An Amherst woman was charged with driving while intoxicated and felony aggravated unlicensed operation after a traffic stop in Clarence about 3:42 a. m. Saturday on Harris Hill Road near Main Street, Erie County sheriff’s deputies said.
While turning onto Harris Hill from Main, deputies said, a vehicle driven by Lisa K. Washburn, 20, of Ayrault Drive, ended up on the sidewalk. She registered a 0.17 percent blood-alcohol concentration in a breath test, deputies added.
Because her driver’s license had been revoked in 2008 for a driving while ability impaired conviction, she was charged subsequently with felony aggravated unlicensed operation, deputies said.
Washburn is in the Erie County Holding Center, pending arraignment in Clarence Town Court. There were three passengers in the vehicle at the time.
