Buffalo Rehab Group will hold a free health and wellness seminar from 6 to 9 p. m. Wednesday at its Tonawanda office, 350 Greenhaven Terrace. Topics will include prevention of falls, arthritis, osteoporosis and vestibular rehabilitation. Health care professionals from all levels including orthopedic surgeons, rehabilitation specialists, home health care providers and community-based organizations will be available to meet. The Rounds Avenue Association, in partnership with the Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo and the Gloria J. Parks Community Association, will present a seminar titled “Weight Management” at 6 p. m. Wednesday in the Parks Community Center, 3242 Main St. Healthy snacks will be served. “Alzheimer’s Disease: Safety at Home” will be the topic at an Alzheimer’s Association, WNY Chapter, family support group meeting at 7 p. m. Wednesday in DeGraff Adult Day Care, 82 Mead St., North Tonawanda. Tips on how to assess your home for potential problems and suggestions on how to keep loved ones safe will be offered. The Erie County Department of Senior Services will hold a six-week “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” program from 6 to 8:30 p. m. on Mondays (June 29 to Aug. 3) in the community room at Victory Ridge, 55 Melroy Ave., Lackawanna. Caregivers will learn how to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, locate helpful resources and balance their lives while taking care of a physically or mentally impaired relative. The cost is $25, but there is no charge for members of Independent Health or Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York.
