Elma’s Conservative, Democratic and Republican parties have endorsed several newcomers vying for the Town Board seat to be vacated by longtime Democratic board member Susan B. Glownia.

Incumbent Supervisor Michael Nolan, 42, has been endorsed for a fourth term by the Conservative and Republican parties and will be unopposed for the second straight election.

The Conservative and Republican paries also endorsed East Aurora jeweler Tracy Petrocy and businessman Tom Fallon for four-year terms on the board and Wayne Clark, 47, the incumbent, for a second four-year term as highway superintendent.

Petrocy, 46, is a graduate of East Aurora High School and Bowman Technical School in Lancaster, Pa., and is an active member of the Jamison Road Fire Company.

Fallon, 53, a Pinewood Trail resident, has been active in EMW Sports and is employed by Derrick Corp. He is a member of the Elma Conservation Club.

The Elma Democratic Committee, which will not endorse a candidate for supervisor, has endorsed incumbent David Polak, the youngest member of the Elma Town Board, for a second four-year term. Polak, 38, is an attorney with offices in West Seneca. He is a member of the Elma Business Association board of directors.

The Democrats also endorsed Donald Przybyl, 59, a frequent attendee at Town Board meetings. The board candidate is retired from the state comptroller’s office, where he worked for 33 years, specializing in municipal audits. Currently, he is a part-time budget analyst for the Erie County Legislature and chairman of the Iroquois Central School Audit Committee. He is a board member of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County.

Henry J. Mazurek Jr., 63, who is challenging Clark for highway superintendent, also has the Democratic endorsement. Mazurek is a 32-year resident of the town and a former teacher in the Buffalo Public Schools. He also owned and operated an auto recycling company.
