Duffield Camp and Retreat Center, 11748 Worden Road, Delevan, (an hour from Buffalo) offers a weeklong residential camping program for developmentally disabled adults. The session runs from July 12 to July 18. Activities include swimming, campfires, crafts, bingo, theater in the woods, fishing and more. For more information, visit

Independent Living of Niagara County, 746 Portage Road, Niagara Falls, offers an anger management and conflict resolution support group meeting at 6 p. m. Monday. Refreshments will be served and transportation is available by calling 836-0822, Ext. 150. For information, call 284-4131, Ext. 17.

The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill offers a family support group meeting at 7 p. m. Wednesday in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4007 Main St., Amherst. For information, call 832-4035.

The NFTA Advisory Committee on the Disabled will meet from 2:30 to 3:30 p. m. Thursday in Niagara Falls Independent Living Center, 746 Portage Road, Niagara Falls. It is open to those interested in learning about the NFTA’s accessible services and programs for people with disabilities. For information, call 855-7286.

The Individual Services Environment program at Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled provides support to individuals with developmental disabilities who have moved out on their own. Assistance with meal preparation, housekeeping and budgeting is available. Information on senior services, assistance in obtaining benefits, insurance, medical appointments, housing, food and counseling are also available. For information, call Michele Wiler at 896-2180.

The Learning Disabilities Association of WNY, 2555 Elmwood Ave., Kenmore, provides assistance for individuals with learning disabilities, neurological impairment or developmental disabilities. For information, call 874-7200.

The Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic on the South Campus of the University at Buffalo provides evaluations and treatment for speech, language or hearing difficulties. Appointments are required. For information, call 829-3980.

The Supported Employment program at Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled provides assistance in job development, coaching and work skills to maintain employment. Also available is Career Exploration for individuals to shadow people in different career fields. For information, call Mel Pascual at 447-9999, Ext. 1.

Bornhava Specialized Early Childhood Center, 25 Chateau Terrace, Snyder, offers special education, therapy and evaluations for children from birth through age 5 with developmental disabilities. Services include a parent support group and men’s forum that meets on a monthly basis. Also, before-and after-school respite programs. For information, call 839-1655.

The Enhanced Services Program at Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled provides support and encompasses residential habilitation and day habilitation for individuals with disabilities. For information, call Arnecia Delk at 896-2180.
