STRAWBERRY SOCIAL: A Strawberry Social will be held from 4:30 to 8 p. m. today at St. Nicodemus Lutheran Church grounds, a half-mile east of Four Rod Road, Marilla. Music will be by the Roger Hill Band. The event will have hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, strawberries, short cake, ice cream and beverages. All are welcome.

SMOKING CESSATION SEMINAR: Catholic Health will present a two-part Smoking Cessation Program from 7 to 8:30 p. m. Wednesday and June 24 in the third-floor conference room at Mercy Hospital, 565 Abbot Road. Participants will learn how to control their physical and psychological dependence on smoking and how to kick the habit for good. Registration is required by calling Catholic Health’s Health Connection, 447-6205.

CONGRESS ON YOUR CORNER: The office of Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo, will host satellite hours for Chautauqua County residents Wednesday from 9 to 11 a. m. at Lakewood Village Hall, 20 W. Summit St.; and 1 to 3 p. m. at the Findley Lake Community Center, 2883 North Road. Constituents will be able to discuss Social Security, veterans affairs, citizenship, immigration or any other matters. For details, call 484-0729.

LEE STAFFER ON HAND: A staff member of Rep. Chris Lee, RClarence, will be on hand from 12:30 to 2 p. m. Wednesday at Arcade Village Hall, 17 Church St., to answer questions, assist with problems between constituents and federal agencies, and hear opinions on national issues.

SRI LANKA FORUM: The forum “Sri Lanka 101: Speaking Out for Civilians” will be held at 7 p. m. Thursday in Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo, 695 Elmwood Ave. The event is sponsored by the Western New York Peace Center. For more information, call 894-2013.

UNDERGROUND RAIL-ROAD: A costumed naturalist will lead a walk that includes a story of escaped slaves making their way to freedom from 7:30 to 9 p. m. Friday at Beaver Island State Park, 2136 West Oakfield Road, Grand Island. For information or to register, call 282-5154.
