A Buffalo man was charged with two felonies after West Seneca police said he stole a gumball machine.

Robert D. Tworkowski, 39, of Rejtan Street, allegedly used a crowbar to smash the front window of the Blockbuster Video Store, 1881 Ridge Road, West Seneca, at about 3 a. m. Thursday. Police said he then entered the store and removed a 4-foot-5-inch high, 60-pound gum dispenser, placed it into the trunk of his car and fled.

John Popp, an off-duty Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority police officer saw the crime from his table at Denny’s Restaurant adjacent to the video store. He secured a plate number from the suspect’s vehicle and alerted the West Seneca police.

Detectives Robert Bebak and Daniel Crowe arrested Tworkowski the next day at his Buffalo home and recovered the gumball machine.

Tworkowski was arraigned by West Seneca Town Justice Richard Scott and is scheduled to return to Town Court at 7 p. m July 7.
