HELPING HANDS—For the past 2z ye 1/2 r 1/3 , Sherry Yousett of the Town of Lockport, the mother of two teenage boys, has been battling liposarcoma, a particularly aggressive form of cancer. She has undergone multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation. To help pay for her considerable medical expenses, friends and family are holding a fundraising event from 2 to 8 p. m. Saturday at Cambria Volunteer Fire Hall, 4631 Cambria-Wilson Road (Route 425), Lockport.

There will be a basket auction, a 50/50 split, food from 4 to 7 p. m. and live music, including a jam session featuring local musicians Jim Jeckovich, Jamie Holka, Frank Vence and Kevin Connor. BARGAIN BIN—Furniture, appliances, antiques, books and toys are offered at this weekend’s rummage sale at St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Lockport St., Youngstown. It’s open from 9 a. m. to 4 p. m. today and 9 a. m. to noon Saturday. There’s a bake sale and snack bar today. A $2 bag sale starts at 11 a. m. Saturday.

WEEKEND MENU— BW’s chicken and ribs barbecue, noon to 6 p. m. Saturday. $11 adults, $5 kids under 12. Church of the Holy Community, Route 5 and Old Lake Shore Road, Lake View. Also theme baskets, homemade baked goods and craft items. For info, call 627-3579.

Feast of Corpus Christi with a chicken dinner, catered by Chef John, following 11:15 a. m. Mass and procession Sunday. $7 adults, $5 kids 12 and younger. Corpus Christi Church, 199 Clark St. The feast, dating to the 13th century, celebrates the institution of the sacrament of Holy Communion. For reservations, call 896-1050.

Chicken barbecue dinner with famous mashed potatoes, starting at noon Sunday, sponsored by the Annunciation Holy Name Society. $8.50 adults, $5 kids under 12. Selbert Hall, 7580 Clinton St., Elma.

GRASS ROOTS—It’s lawn fete season again. Our Lady of Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church, 1619 Abbott Road, Lackawanna, holds its annual fete from 4 to 11 p. m. Saturday and noon to 11 p. m. Sunday. In addition to all the usual attractions, Terry Buchwald will perform his tribute to Elvis from 7 to 11 p. m. Saturday; the Adriatic Brac Tamburitza Band will play from noon to 4 p. m. Sunday; and Joe Donohue will entertain from 4 to 9 p. m. Admission is free.
