Basom man is killed in crash on reservation

ALABAMA—A Genesee County man was killed Saturday afternoon when his pickup crashed on the Tonawanda Indian Reservation.

Alan M. Jones, 53, of Meadville Road, Basom, was killed when the vehicle went off Judge Road, struck an embankment, and he was ejected, Genesee County sheriff’s officials said. The crash is being investigated. Jones was proceeding south on Judge just after 4 p. m. when he lost control.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene by Genesee County Coroner Jack Taylor.
