Rob Lanier, Buffalo native and University at Florida men’s basketball assistant coach, will be the lead instructor for the 411 Basketball Academy, held Aug. 8 at Villa Maria College. Registration begins at 7 a. m. with the camp running from 8 a. m. to noon. The program is for boys and girls in grades 5 to 7. Entry fee is $60 and each participant receives a 411 Basketball Academy T-shirt, a pair of sneakers and lunch. There are 10 scholarships available among the 65 slots. Hall of Fame goaltender Bernie Parent will sign autographs from 6:30 to 8 p. m. Friday at the Sports Collectors Corner store in the Niagara Falls Fashion Outlet Mall on Military Road. Photos, pucks and memorabilia will be available for purchase and signing. Call 297-5578.

BASKETBALL: Cardinal O’Hara High School is looking for both home and away games for its varsity and junior varsity boys teams. The program also has coaching positions available. Call 444-7221.

TENNIS: MicroBiz Buffalo, Inc., will host a tennis instruction/ financial literacy program for inner-city youth every Tuesday and Thursday through August. The program is being run along with the Buffalo Olmstead Parks Conservancy and Creating Assets, Savings & Hope programs. Call 200-1535.
