L. A. Angels 9, Baltimore 6: Vladimir Guerrero hit a tying two-run homer in his first game back in right field, and the Angels took advantage of a wild Orioles bullpen.
Texas 5, Tampa Bay 2: Scott Feldman allowed three hits in six innings as the Rangers completed a three-game sweep. The Rays lost their fourth in a row and fell six behind Boston in the AL East.
National League

St. Louis 10, Cincinnati 1: Colby Rasmus’ homer started St. Louis’ eight-run onslaught against slumping righty Bronson Arroyo, and the Cardinals got another solid start from Chris Carpenter.
Philadelphia 2, N. Y. Mets 0: Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley each homered off Johan Santana as the Phillies finished a sweep of the Mets, who suffered their eighth loss in 11 games.
Chicago Cubs 8, Milwaukee 2: Ted Lilly pitched effectively into the seventh inning and Derrek Lee hit a two-run homer as the Cubs closed to within a game and a half of Milwaukee in the NL Central.
Arizona 4, Colorado 3: Mark Reynolds hit a three-run homer and Felipe Lopez broke a tie with an RBI single for the D-backs, who notched their first series win since mid-June at Kansas City. Washington 5, Atlanta 3: Scott Olsen pitched into the ninth inning and newly acquired Nyjer Morgan had three hits for the Nationals.

Around the horn

New York Yankees: Starter Chien-Ming Wang went back on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain, and manager Joe Girardi said he’s not sure how long the right-hander will be out.
