Isle driver charged with DWI and felony

Erie County sheriff’s deputies charged a Grand Island man with driving while intoxicated early Saturday.
Nicholas P. DiMatteo was stopped by Deputies Tom Meredith and Kristen Rozycki at about 4 a. m. on East Park Road on Grand Island. DiMatteo, 24, also was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation, because he was driving with a revoked license from a prior conviction for driving while ability impaired, deputies said. DiMatteo refused to take a chemical test to determine his blood-alcohol level, according to authorities.
