A person walking away from a confrontation was shot in the back early Saturday morning at Humboldt Parkway and East Delavan Avenue.

The victim told Buffalo police that the shooting occurred at about 4 a. m. Saturday, after he turned away from a dispute with the suspect.

The victim, Bertrand Joiner, no age or address available, was taken to the emergency room in Erie County Medical Center, but left, officials at the hospital said Saturday evening.

Joiner said he knew his shooter only as “Cheese.” No arrests were made.
