Popular Buffalo actor and Westfield native Tim Newell, fresh off a tour in Michigan and Virginia of the hit one-man show “Mister Benny,” will return to his home turf this weekend to perform in two dinner theater productions of A.R. Gurney’s play “The Dining Room” in Westfield and Jamestown.
The performances, presented as staged readings by the Chautauqua County Gurney Players and directed by Bob McLure, are slated for 6 p.m. Friday in Eason Hall (26 Elm St., Westfield) and 6 p.m. Saturday in the Cappa Theatre (305 E. Fourth St., Jamestown). One of Gurney’s most produced plays, “The Dining Room” peels back the curtain on the lives and polite squabbles of a family of WASPs and is set entirely in the family’s dining room.
Tickets, which include appetizers, dinner, wine and desert at intermission, are $30. For Friday’s show in Westfield, call 753-2338. For Saturday’s show in Jamestown, call 763-0578.
