Q: In the recent “Criminal Minds” episode where JJ was kidnapped because of events in her past. When were those events supposed to have taken place? – Gary Ford, Buffalo
A: In the timeline of the CBS series, it would have been during Season 6 (2010-11), when actress A.J. Cook was off the show because her contract wasn’t renewed.
When she was re-signed and her character reappeared at the end of that season, it was after JJ had been working for the State Department in Afghanistan – as we learned from the 200th episode last month – on a “Zero Dark Thirty”-type mission to find Osama bin Laden. The timing of that plot held true to real events, since the al-Qaida leader was found and killed by U.S. forces in May 2011.
Q: I enjoy watching repeats of “The King of Queens.” When was the show originally on the air? – Peggy Jones, Altoona, Pa.
A: The Kevin James sitcom had a very healthy run on CBS, starting in 1998 and ending in 2007. That usually makes for a solid afterlife, as proven by the weekday reruns currently on both TBS and TV Land.
Q: Can you tell me if there will be a Season 2 of HBO’s series “Family Tree”? – Sue Kelly, Alpena, Mich.
A: There won’t. It was one season and out for the documentarylike comedy that included Christopher Guest among its creators and executive producers.
