Q: In the newsroom scenes of “The Michael J. Fox Show,” is it distracting for the actual workers in the newsroom to have the show filming there? – Linda Hoffman, Milwaukee

A: When we saw the pilot episode of the NBC sitcom, we wondered the same thing … until Fox himself explained to us that the “newsroom” in his show actually is a studio set that duplicates the workplace of New York’s WNBC-TV, where Fox’s character, Mike Henry, has returned.

Q: What’s the background of Emily Wickersham, who plays the newest agent on “NCIS”? – Don Reynolds, Columbus, Ohio

A: Now appearing as Ellie Bishop on the CBS hit, the actress played Rhiannon in several episodes of “The Sopranos,” and she also had appeared in such shows as “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “Gossip Girl” and “The Bridge.” Additionally, she’s been featured in movies including “I Am Number Four” and (as Amanda Seyfried’s missing sister) “Gone.”

Q: Why were Matt Lauer and Al Roker sporting beards at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? – Steve Merritt, Baltimore

A: It was a “No-Shave November” for all the male regulars on NBC’s weekday “Today,” also including Carson Daly and Willie Geist.

They grew the facial hair to support the “Movember” initiative to promote men’s health, but once December arrived, the razors came out … though some of the fellows kept a trimmed-down version of their new looks.
