Goo-bye for the year
It has been a banner year for the Goo Goo Dolls. The band returned to Buffalo from Los Angeles, finished renovations on its own downtown recording studio, began tracking tunes for a new studio album, and was declared the band with the most Top 10 singles in Adult Top 40 radio history. Seems like now’d be a good time for a vacation, no?
Well, no. These are Buffalo boys, after all. The band has a brand new song available on iTunes in the form of “Real,” and this week, released a new retrospective collection titled “Volume II,” which compiles rare versions of hits, B-sides and deep album cuts. The band’s touring for the year is coming to an end, but there’s that new album to finish, and then the whole cycle of touring will commence again, some time in 2009.
Before the band flies beneath the public radar for a bit, it will play one show at the Seneca Allegany Casino and Hotel at 8 p. m. Saturday. Remaining tickets are available through Ticketmaster.com. — Jeff Miers
