An array of artists spanning musical genres and eras plus some of the biggest names in comedy will perform this summer in both the Seneca Niagara Casino Events Center in Niagara Falls and its sister site, the Seneca Allegany Casino Events Center in Salamanca.

The “Summer Rush” concert series was announced today by the Seneca Gaming Corp.

Highlights include “An Evening with Yes” on July 18; a rare area appearance from John Mellencamp and his band on July 3; contemporary R&B performer and songwriter John Legend on June 13; and a return engagement with jazz-pop overlords Steely Dan on Aug. 8.

Revered British progressive rock collective Yes will arrive at the Seneca Allegany Casino with a new album – its first studio recording with new singer John Davison – in tow. Interestingly, original Yes vocalist Jon Anderson performs a solo show April 18 in the Seneca Niagara Casino’s Bear’s Den.

Mellencamp is working on new material as well, but his summer tour will reportedly revolve around sets culled from a collection of his best-loved songs. Steely Dan’s summer tour finds the duo of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker joined by a collective of top-tier jazz and rock musicians, among them revered drummer Keith Carlock. Legend’s summer tour involves the singer/pianist in an intimate “An Evening With” format, accompanied by a guitarist and string quartet.

In addition to the season’s concerts, several appearances by comedians including Jeff Dunham and George Lopez were announced.
