Actress Melissa Anderson, who played Mary Ingalls on the NBC television series “Little House on the Prairie,” will help Genesee Country Village & Museum celebrate “Laura Ingalls Wilder Days” on Aug. 2-3.
Anderson will give a presentation each day at noon at the museum’s Village Square, followed by a question-and-answer period. From 2 to 4 p.m., she will be available for autographs, limited to 200 signatures per session. Visitors must purchase autograph tickets in advance. The charge is $5 for signing a museum-purchased item and $10 for an autograph on an item brought from home.
The Emmy-nominated Anderson appeared in 163 episodes of the show, which ran from 1974-1983, and also appeared on “The Love Boat,” “The Brady Bunch” and “Bewitched,” among others, and in several made-for-TV movies. In 2010, she released her autobiography “The Way I See It: A Look Back at My Life on Little House.”
Laura Ingalls Wilder Days celebrate the writings of one of the most popular writers of 19th-century frontier life. Young visitors are invited to dress in costume and join in a multitude of activities that a young Laura might have enjoyed, including sack races, barrel rolls, kneading bread, playing in a haystack, churning butter, tug of war, making rag dolls and more.
