Jazz singer Mari McNeil is celebrating the release of a CD, “Here Beneath the Blue,” with a special evening of music and friends.

On the disc, McNeil is joined by an all-star Buffalo combo, and the musicians will be performing with her at the party. They include Michael McNeill on piano, John Bacon on drums, Wayne Moose on bass, Tim Clarke on trumpet and Bobby Militello on sax and flute. The repertoire will encompass the standards McNeil sings on her CD, jazz/cabaret songs such as “Let’s Do It: Let’s Fall in Love,” “The Shadow Of Your Smile,” “Old Devil Moon” and “Rhode Island Is Famous For You.”

The CD release party takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Marfield Room at Trinity Episcopal Church (371 Delaware Ave.). The evening will feature wine from the Wine Room, a variety of hors d’oeuvres and, for animal lovers, a pet portrait auction. Admission is $25 at the door, $20 in advance and proceeds benefit the Massachusetts Avenue Project.
