Could a Scintas show at the Riviera Theatre be becoming a Christmas tradition? If so, Deo gratias! Last year, when Buffalo’s first family of Las Vegas comedy brought its shtick to North Tonawanda, it was hard to tell who had the better time, the performers or the audience. As News reviewer Garaud MacTaggart wrote: “The relationship between the Scintas and their audience is one of easy familiarity, shared values and experiences that allow the performers to ignore political correctness in favor of communicating with people who grew up in similar neighborhoods and on familiar blocks.”
The troupe’s current lineup comprises Scinta brothers Joe and Frank, “honorary Scinta” Peter O’Donnell and a recent addition, Janien Valentine. They play the Riviera at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $35-$55, and it is suggested you act now to get them, because last year’s show sold out. For info, call 692-2413.
