WEDNESDAY, 7:30p.m.: Earth’s Daughters Gray Hair Series Reading featuring Cuban-born UB professor Jorge Guitart, author of “The Empress of Frozen Custard & Ninety-Nine Other Poems” (BlazeVox Books) and Teresa Peipins, a Western New York-based writer of Latvian descent. THURSDAY, noon:“Darwin, The Origin of Influence,” a lunchtime talk by Cornell University-based scholar Sheila Ann Dean on the life and work of Charles Darwin in conjunction with the 150th anniversary of the publication of “The Origin of Species.” Buffalo & Erie County Central Library, One Lafayette Square.
