FRIDAY, 5to6:20p.m.:“&Now” Conference readings by Mary Caponegro, author of “All Fall Down” (fiction), and Brian Evenson, author of the novel “Last Days.” Hallwalls Cinema, 341 Delaware Ave.

FRIDAY, 6p.m.: Fall release party for “Best to Get Started,” a semi-autobiographical graphic fiction/comic series by Salvatore Sciandra. Rust Belt Books, 202 Allen St.

FRIDAY, 8p.m.: “& Now” Conference keynote reading by Nathaniel Mackey, recipient of the 2006 National Book Award for “Splay Anthem.” Buffalo Convention Center. Saturday, 11 a. m. to 2 p. m.: Just Buffalo Family History Writing Workshop, with UB Women’s Studies professor Alexis DeVeaux. WNY Book Arts Center, 468 Washington St.
