The annual ART for HEART Auction takes place from 5:30 to 8 p. m. Saturday in the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum (453 Porter Ave.) and includes live music, food, raffles and prizes. The event features original student and professional artwork to help support the H. E. A. R. T. for Mental Health program. Tickets are $15 or $100 for a block of 10. . Shakespeare in Delaware Park will hold its fall fundraiser, “A Memoir: Of 34 Years of Shakespeare in Delaware Park with Saul Elkin,” at 6 p. m. Nov. 8 in Buffalo Seminary (205 Bidwell Parkway). Auditions
Road Less Traveled Productions is seeking African- American actors (four male, one female, ages 20 to 40) for its upcoming summer production of “Insidious.” Evening and weekend rehearsals begin in June. All positions are paid.
Also sought are minority performers for other roles in the season. The audition, which includes readings from the script, will take place Nov.

. The Alden Christian Theatre Society will hold auditions for its winter show, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!,” from 7 to 9 p. m. Wednesday and Thursday in the theater at 1470 Church St., Alden. . The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra is seeking instrumentalists and vocalists of all ages to audition for Marvin Hamlisch’s Star Search performance, to be held at Kleinhans Music Hall at 8 p. m. April 24, 2010 as a part of the Blue- Cross BlueShield Pops Concert Series. Anyone interested should send in a DVD or VHS to: BPO Star Search Auditions, 499 Franklin St., Buffalo, N. Y. 14202. Submissions should include two short selections, five minutes each. Also include a short sentence or two about yourself and your background. All materials must be postmarked by Dec. 15. Professional musicians or vocalists are excluded from this competition. Candidate’s primary residence must be located within a 60- mile radius of Buffalo. Finalists will be notified by March 1.

Squeaky Wheel is seeking Super 8 films for the annual Global Super 8 Day screening. Films may be in any genre and should be no longer than 10 minutes. Film, DVD or MiniDV are acceptable.
