As Buffalo gears up to host a conference of the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy from Wednesday to Oct. 11, the University at Buffalo is unveiling an extensive new exhibition on the famed architect’s many connections to Western New York.

“Frank Lloyd Wright’s Buffalo Venture: From the Larkin Building to Broadacre City” is a show featuring architectural plans and models, photographs and letters that detail Wright’s long-standing association with Buffalo’s Larkin Co. The show aims to make previously little-known objects and items available to scholars and gallerygoers in the hopes of revealing a period in Buffalo’s history characterized by what UB Art Gallery Director Sandra Olson called “remarkable patronage” on the part of Larkin Co. patrons including Darwin D. Martin and George F. Barton.

The exhibition, open through Dec. 30, includes items from the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the UB archives, the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and the Getty Research Institute.

The show is free and open to the public. For more information, call 829-3754 or visit www.ubartgalleries.org.
