The daily dish... a spicy serving of celebrity news
True love…
Anna Paquin, the Emmy-winning star of “True Blood,” says the love scenes on the show aren’t so tough to do since actor Stephen Moyer, who plays her vampire love interest, is also her real-life boyfriend.
“Obviously, if you’re already with that person then you’re not having to sort of get over the ‘Wow, I’m naked with someone that I don’t even know the middle name of!’ ” she laughed in an interview with AOL Television. “I think that regardless of what kind of scene you’re doing, the better you know the person, …the more open and real your performance can be,” she added.
Paquin, who plays sweet clairvoyant Sookie Stackhouse on HBO’s cult hit, doesn’t seem bothered by all the nudity required of her on the show. “I feel fine,” Paquin said. “Although the way that people ask me about it all the time, I feel like maybe I should feel uptight about it. But I really don’t.”
‘Potter’ tribute…
Cast and crew from the new Harry Potter movie will wear white ribbons on their wrists at tonight’s world premiere as a mark of respect to murdered actor Rob Knox, reports the BBC online. Knox, 18, who played Marcus Belby in the forthcoming “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” was stabbed in south east London last May.
He was defending his brother when he was attacked by Karl Bishop, who received four life terms in March.
Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the teenage wizard in the film, said Knox’s death had hit all of the cast. “I won’t pretend I knew him incredibly well, or was his best friend on set, but I knew him and liked him, and what happened to him was obviously tragic and awful.”
Kennedy bombshell…
The long-rumored love affair between JacquelineKennedyOnassis and Robert F. Kennedy may not be considered a rumor for much longer, reports MSNBC online.
C. David Heymann’s latest book, “Bobby and Jackie: A Love Story,” details the four-year relationship between the two prominent Kennedys.
The author, who has previously written biographies of Jackie O, John F. KennedyJr. and Caroline Kennedy, paints a picture of the affair with the use of personal interviews and previously unavailable reports from the Secret Service and FBI.
According to the book, Jackie and RFK connected six months after the assassination of JFK. It also claims that the married senator and father of 11 was the former first lady’s one “true love.”
“Everybody knew about the affair,” Franklin Roosevelt Jr., JFK’s undersecretary of commerce, says in the book. “I suspect Bobby would’ve liked to dump [his wife] Ethel and marry Jackie, but, of course, that wasn’t possible.”
The book is due in stores next Tuesday.
More trouble…
Dane Cook’s half brother has been indicted on additional charges he stole more than $11 million from the comedian, prosecutors said Monday.
Darryl McCauley, 43, of Wilmington, Mass., allegedly wrote company checks to himself and transferred funds into his personal bank accounts while being paid $12,500 a month to serve as business manager for Great Dane Enterprises.
McCauley worked as Cook’s business manager from the early 1990s to December.
