Then and now…

Adam Lambert says an album of tunes he recorded before “American Idol” won’t be anything like what he’s planning now.

Songs recorded by Lambert before his rise on the popular Fox singing competition are slated to be released this summer on the album “On with the Show” from Hi Fi Recordings and Wilshire Records, beginning with the single “Want.”

John Hecker, CEO of Hi Fi Recordings, said Friday that the tracks were recorded in 2007 and 2008 and described them as mid-and up-tempo songs, ballads and rock tunes.

Lambert inked a record deal with 19 Entertainment and RCA Recordings earlier this month after losing to Kris Allen on the finale. The 27-year-old rocker will work on that album while on the road with the show’s finalists for the “Idols Live Tour,” which starts July 5 in Portland, Ore. The untitled album from 19 and RCA is expected for release in the fall. “The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on,” Lambert said in a statement Friday.

Twins get $500,000…

Documents show actor Dennis Quaid and his wife have agreed to a $500,000 settlement with a hospital that sickened his newborn twins with an overdose of blood thinner.

A petition filed in Los Angeles Superior Court in May shows the settlement will be divided evenly between the twins, Zoe Grace and Thomas Boone.

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has also agreed to provide free medical care for any issues arising from the Heparin overdose in November 2007.

The drug can be fatal to infants, but the Quaids and the hospital aren’t aware of any lingering health issues with the twins.

A hospital spokeswoman says she did not have any information beyond what’s in the public record.

The settlement was first reported Friday by celebrity gossip site TMZ.

Full of bull…

Actor Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest movie character, an Austrian fashionista called Bruno, drew gasps and some cheers as he appeared dressed as a bull in front of Spain’s main bullring Thursday.

The British actor-comedian who was in Madrid to promote his new movie—“Bruno”—arrived in a horse-drawn carriage escorted by muscular matadors just as the sun set on the historic bullring Las Ventas.

“Ich have come to redress the wrong done to the gay community by that Hollywood movie on Harvey Milk which was acted by Sean Penn, who’s not even gay,” Baron Cohen told a crowd of bemused Madrid onlookers in a German accent.

His new film, which is scheduled for release July 10, features a flamboyantly gay character.

Sporting large hooves and a well-endowed furry black bull costume, Bruno strutted on a sand-colored carpet and invited “all cute bullfighters” to his hotel room for a party.

16 and out…

After more than 16 years of marriage, actors Bradley Whitford and Jane Kaczmarek are divorcing.

Whitford’s publicist, Melissa Kates, says the “The West Wing” actor and “Malcom in the Middle” actress are divorcing.

The couple were married in August 1992 and have three children.

Kaczmarek currently stars as a judge on TNT’s “Raising the Bar.” Whitford starred in a Broadway revival of “Boeing-Boeing” last year.
