The daily dish... a spicy serving of celebrity news
Nomystery…
In a visit to “The View,” “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi says the much-speculated-about sexual orientation of “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert
is no mystery to her. “I don’t think that Adam was
ever in [the closet],” she says. Host Barbara Walters had asked if Lambert’s controversial loss to Kris Allen was influenced by reports that Lambert, who has been photographed
kissing another man, is gay. “I hope not,” DioGuardi said, “because we should be judging on talent and viability in the music industry.”
Meanwhile, the New York Post’s Page Six reports that Lambert
will announce that he is gay in a cover story scheduled to run in next week’s Rolling Stone.
A rep for Rolling Stone told Page Six, “We don’t comment on future covers.”
Drugbust…
Tom Sizemore was arrested this week on a warrant issued in a Central California drug case, authorities said.
The actor, who has co-starred in “Heat,” “Saving Private Ryan” and “Black Hawk Down,” was arrested with another man after officers came across them while responding to a unrelated call, Los Angeles Police Officer Norma Eisenman said.
Sizemore was arrested for an outstanding warrant issued in Bakersfield on a drug case from 2007.
Eisenman says the other man with Sizemore was arrested on a drug possession charge, but that Sizemore was only booked on the warrant. Police did not name the man with Sizemore. Jail records show the 47-year-old actor has been released from custody.
In seclusion…
“Britain’s Got Talent” singing sensation Susan Boyle has gone into hiding after being hounded by the press and fans at the hotel where she was staying leading up to tonight’s final round of the show.
But although the show’s judge Piers Morgan said she had once “packed her bags” to quit the show, Boyle now says she’s staying. In a statement posted on the show’s Web site, Boyle says, “I’ve spent weeks rehearsing— it’s all I’ve been thinking about. I’m not going to throw away my big chance now.”
The 48-year-old church volunteer who stunned the judges with her soaring voice reportedly had a public meltdown after hearing Morgan, her favorite judge, praise another performer in the semifinals, and later had a spirited discussion with police outside the hotel.
Now, she says, she is laying low because she wants “nothing more than to stay and sing.”
