Rimes shares …
Grammy Award-winning country singer LeAnn Rimes, 26, is supporting an awareness campaign to inform people about the skin condition psoriasis, from which she suffers.
“Over the years I’ve had to deal with the emotional and physical toll psoriasis has had on my self-esteem and confidence,” said Rimes, 26. “I hope by joining this effort, others will be empowered to stop hiding and better manage their disease.” Psoriasis is a noncontagious disorder that causes itchy, red patches of skin. It affects nearly 7 million people in the United States.
“Since the age of 2 I have battled my disease,” said Rimes in a video on the Stop Hiding from Psoriasis Web site. “Growing up with the condition was challenging, to say the least. At one point, 80 percent of my body was covered with psoriasis patches. I know first-hand how living with psoriasis is,” she says.

Garth rebounds …
Jennie Garth is reprising her role as the stylish Kelly Taylor on the new “90210,” but the new gig follows a traumatic six months.
“I had this six months of hell,” the actress, 36, tells People magazine online. “I had a sick daughter and then my father passed away, so there was a six-month period in my life when I didn’t think about my looks or my weight or my body or anything.”
Right after her appearance on “Dancing With the Stars,” Garth suddenly faced every parent’s nightmare. Her 5-year-old daughter Lola, “got very sick and we didn’t know what was wrong with her,” says Garth, who has three daughters with husband Peter Facinelli. “I was basically locked in a closet with her for three months.”
“I didn’t exercise or eat healthy,” she adds. “I had been a 27 in my jeans after ‘Dancing With the Stars’ and I was so excited. But it really went back quickly. I definitely gained inches and a size.”
Doctors diagnosed her daughter’s illness as a form of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. “We treated her and it’s in remission,” says Garth.
