TV Mail Box / Looking for new seasons of ‘Heroes,’ ‘Kyle XY’ and ‘Big Love’
Q: What is happening with the show “Heroes”? — Dan Freeman, Fremont, Calif.
A: It’s revving up to start its third season after a second year that was cut short by the writers strike. The NBC fantasy-drama returns with fresh episodes Sept. 22, but on Sept. 15, a special night of “Heroes”-related programming will include a clip show recapping all that has happened in the saga thus far.
If you can’t wait that long, new “webisodes” are running this summer on www.nbc.com , with a different one beginning each Monday. •••
Q: Can you tell me if “Big Love” is ever coming back to HBO? — Canonsburg, Pa.
A: It is, but it’ll be a little while before the story of a man (Bill Pullman) and his wives (Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloe Sevigny, Ginnifer Goodwin) returns. The premium cable network intends to start season three in January; you can chalk up the delay in production to the writers strike.

Q: The last scene of the “CSI: Miami” season finale left you with the impression Horatio was killed. Is he really dead? — Ed Gamble, Columbus, Ohio
A: That, of course, was the cliffhanger that CBS wants you to wonder about all summer. Whether CSI team leader Horatio Caine — played by David Caruso — really was slain at an airfield should be resolved in the show’s seventh-season premiere Sept. 22. This much is sure: At the very least, Horatio is going to need a new pair of sunglasses.

Q: I have not seen any mention of “Kyle XY” returning this season. Will it return, or has it been canceled?— Delores Hecht, Boynton Beach, Fla.
A: ABC Family is planning to launch the third round of the series in January.

Q: I was sad to learn of the death of White House press secretary Tony Snow. I know he had signed with CNN to be a commentator; did he actually appear on that network in that role? — Chris Smith, Boulder, Colo.
A: Only a handful of times, perhaps most notably on “Larry King Live” right after his CNN deal was announced.
Very shortly after that, Snow was hospitalized again for a recurrence of colon cancer, the illness that — as was mentioned many times the weekend of his passing — also had claimed his mother’s life when he was very young.
