Hungry? WNY Restaurant Week starts Monday
More than 130 local restaurants to offer the $20.09 dinner special
The taxman cometh, and looking for ways to make a dollar sit up and holler has become something of a hobby. To feed the need, Western New York restaurateurs have put together a dizzying menu of specials starting Monday and running through March 29.
More than 130 restaurants are part of Western New York Restaurant Week, taking pains to lure customers and reward regulars.
From filet mignon to french fries, the deals speak to every palate under the sun — all for the same price: $20.09, excluding tax and tip. All the details — more than we can print — can be found on www.localrestaurantweek.com , the Web site anchoring the promotion. (Additions since press time can be found on the site.) Restaurants have jumped at the chance to become part of Restaurant Week, said Vince McConeghy, the site’s director.
“The response has been remarkable,” said Mc- Coneghy, whose main Web site, www.localfoodservice.com , hopes to become a home base for local restaurant and food service professionals. Got a cheeseburger jones? Maybe North is worth a visit, for its burger-anchored four-course meal. Trying to impress someone special while coping with budget worries? Try for one of the limited number of Restaurant Week reservations at top-flight restaurants such as Oliver’s and Rue Franklin.
Or maybe it’s finally time to try that place you always wanted to go. It’s not going to get any less expensive, and you can take a little nourishment before you write that check to Uncle Sam.
