Q: My wife and I are fans of “Criminal Minds,” and we’ve noticed Matthew Gray Gubler going around with crutches or a cane. Did he actually hurt his leg in one of the episodes? — Terry Wabnitz, Greeley, Colo.

A: Reportedly, he dislocated his knee while dancing — no, not on his CBS show — and required surgery. Since producers opted to let him “play injured,” Gubler hasn’t been absent from any of this season’s stories.

Q: A Canadian program from the ’90s called “Forever Knight” starred Geraint Wyn Davies as a vampire who was a detective. I’ve searched unsuccessfully for the series on DVD, though a later version — a trilogy with different actors— has been produced. Can you tell me if the original is available? — Philip Krumm, San Antonio

A: The trilogy you’re referring to is the version starring Geraint Wyn Davies, which originally aired on CBS. Each set represents one of the three seasons of the series. It can be reasoned that it actually was the later version, since an earlier “Nick Knight” pilot film starring Rick Springfield didn’t sell.

Q: In the Gregory Peck version of “Moby Dick,” who played Queequeg? — Gail Toerpe, Milwaukee

A: Austrian actor Friedrich von Ledebur played the part. The actor appeared on TV in “Wagon Train,” “The Twilight Zone” and “77 Sunset Strip,” but worked principally in Europe. He died in 1986.
