Q: I keep looking for “The Unit” to be back on. I could have sworn your column said it would be.— Edith Jones, Dallas
A: It didn’t. In fact, we mentioned recently that CBS had canceled the Dennis Haysbertstarring series after four seasons. All four are available now on DVD, both separately and in an all-inclusive gift set.
Q: NBC had a show called “Journeyman,” about someone who was able to travel back in time and change or modify past events. Any idea if the show has been released on DVD? — Chris Eng, Seattle
A: It hasn’t been, and as of this writing, there hadn’t been any word of such a release being planned for the series, which starred Kevin McKidd as the time traveler.
Q: Will the series “thirtysomething” ever be available on DVD or shown in reruns? We have been waiting a long time. — Charlie Bruno, Port Saint Lucie, Fla.
A: Well, your wait could have been roughly three months shorter if you’d known about the DVD release of the show’s first season in late August. Some of the original cast members — including Ken Olin and Timothy Busfield — helped to promote the occasion.
Busfield also is featured in commentaries included in the set of the 1987-88 episodes that introduced the ABC series about friends, relatives and acquaintances struggling with their transitions into full adulthood. Fellow stars Mel Harris and Melanie Mayron also share their thoughts, as do series creator- producers Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick.
