Q: My husband and I recently watched the season finale of “Drop Dead Diva.” When will the show start up again?— Carol Guglielmino, Indiantown, Fla.

A: Prompted by promising ratings—and particularly good reviews for series star Brooke Elliott as the attorney reincarnation of a deceased model— Lifetime has ordered a second season of 13 episodes. The network is saying only that those will be shown in 2010, without attaching a firm premiere date yet. With that said, we’d bet on summer for them.

Q: The best new show last season was “The Unusuals.” When will it be coming back?— Carl Gerling, Shoreline, Wash.

A: It won’t be. About halfway through the show’s run in the spring, ABC announced that it wasn’t renewing the police comedy-drama series that starred Amber Tamblyn and Terry Kinney (who now appears on CBS’ “The Mentalist”).

Q: What happened to Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton on “One Tree Hill”?— Gayle Dunseth, Fort Mohave, Ariz.

A: They drove off into the sunset, in more ways than one. That’s how their newly married characters, Lucas and Peyton, were last seen in the sixth-season finale of the CW series last spring. In an amateur video he didn’t record himself, Murray, who is from Clarence, expressed his belief that he wasn’t being brought back as a cost-saving measure, though Burton suggested in a print interview that money wasn’t the issue— at least in her own case.
