Wedding plans
It looks like it will be a summer wedding for Hugh Hefner’s ex-gal pal Kendra Wilkinson and NFL player Hank Baskett.
The former Playboy bunny tells Robin Leach for his blog that they’ll marry June 27 at the Playboy Mansion and is waiting for Baskett’s season to end with the
Philadelphia Eagles so he can help with the details.
“I’m waiting for him to come out here and help me plan,” she says. “I’m ready to just get married.”
Recently fully moved out of the Playboy Mansion, Wilkinson is “retiring from the whole nudity thing” and is now focusing on being an athlete’s wife. “I love football, but I never thought I would marry a football player,” she tells Leach. “We all have our perfect match, I have.”
No plans are set yet on whether Hefner will walk her down the aisle, she adds.
Do-gooders
Oprah Winfrey might be the best-loved do-gooder of them all. But this year she lost out to President-elect Obama in the ranking of celebrity do-gooders by DoSomething. org, coming in at No. 2.
USA Today says the report, which ranks how celebrities inspire people 25 and under, includes, in order: Angelina Jolie, Ellen DeGeneres, Brad Pitt, Al Gore, Lance Armstrong, Michelle Obama, Bono and Michael J. Fox.
Expecting
Lance Armstrong and girlfriend Anna Hansen are expecting their first child together, according to People magazine.
“Anna and I are thrilled to confirm that we are expecting in June and our families are ecstatic and grateful,” Armstrong says in a statement. “We are very much looking forward to what 2009 brings on many fronts.”
Armstrong, 37, who won seven straight Tour de France races after battling testicular cancer, announced in September his return to professional cycling and the Tour de France next year.
He has three children, Luke, 9, and twins Isabella and Grace, 7, with ex-wife Kristin (they divorced in 2003). The children were conceived through in vitro fertilization with sperm frozen prior to Armstrong undergoing chemotherapy.
Metallica Hero
Rock out like Metallica. The heavy metal supergroup has confirmed on its official site that they are getting “Guitar Hero” video game treatment, according to aceshowbiz.com.
“It’s the worst kept secret in rock ’n’ roll but we’re here now to finally confirm that there will indeed be an all-Metallica ‘Guitar Hero’ game released in the first half of 2009,” the band wrote in a post.
Coming back
Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson is ready to step back into the spotlight after the slayings of her mother, brother and nephew in October, according to various news sources.
Hudson will perform at the 2009 MusiCares Person of the Year gala in Los Angeles on Feb. 6, a fundraising event honoring musician Neil Diamond.
The event could be Hudson’s first public appearance since the slayings. The “Dreamgirls” Oscar winner joins Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Adele, Tim McGraw, Josh Groban and Raul Malo.
