Club Chatter: Earle moves to The Tralf

Tuesday's Steve Earle/Allison Moorer show scheduled for the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall has been moved to the Tralf (622 Main St.). Good news, I think, for what is sure to be an intimate show centered on Earle’s storytelling abilities and the sublime beauty of his wife Moorer’s singing.
If you bought a ticket for the Rockwell Hall gig, it will be honored at the Tralf. If you didn’t, and would like to, the remaining tickets are available at the Tralf box office or through Ticketmaster, for $26.50.
Earle is on tour in support of his brilliant latest effort, “Washington Square Serenade,” a record that doesn’t so much break ranks with his last several as it does follow one of the streams leading off to the side of the same river. In concert, Earle has decided to go it alone this time, band-wise, but in keeping with the rustic hipness of “Washington Square Serenade,” he’ll be joined by a DJ on a few of the tunes where beats and grooves lend to the ominous, dirt-road funk of the affair.
Moorer will open the show with a set of her own, before joining her husband to provide harmonies — hopefully, one of the duets will be the heart-rending “Days Aren’t Long Enough,” one of the finest love songs I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing — and share in the impressive nature of Earle’s song catalog, from which he will pull liberally.
If you need to brush up on your Earle prior to the show, “Washington Square Serenade” is out now, as is the deluxe remastered edition of the mighty “Copperhead Road,” Earle’s commercial breakthrough.
The Tralf’s doors will open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m.
