Sharon M. Rozler, retired Alden official

Sharon M. Rozler, a retired Town of Alden official, died Saturday in Sisters of Charity Hospital following a long illness. She was 77.

Born in Buffalo, the former Sharon Rusher was the daughter of Alden’s first mayor. She graduated in 1950 from Stella Niagara High School. She lived in the Village of Alden her entire life.

From 1988 until 1990, she was Alden deputy town clerk, and from 1990 until she retired in 1997, she was the town’s court clerk.

Mrs. Rozler was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Alden.

Her husband, Merle, died in 2006.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen Manicki Greis and Susan Rozler DeWitt; and a son, Michael Manicki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a. m. Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Church, 2021 Sandridge Road, Alden.
