Thaddeus J. “Teddy” Bednarski Jr. of Lancaster, owner of TJ Bednarski Nursery& Landscaping on Schwartz Road in Lancaster, died Wednesday in the Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center after a long illness. He was 66.

Born in Stamford, Conn., he was a graduate of Lancaster High School and served in the Air Force. He and his father started the nursery at their home in 1960, and he took over the operation in 1969.

A lover of the outdoors, plants and nature, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lancaster.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas and David; a brother, Donald; and a sister, Diane Golpl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a. m. Saturday in Annunciation Catholic Church, 7580 Clinton St., Elma.
