Feb. 27, 1961—Feb. 8, 2012 Michael J. Fahey of Grand Island, a retired Buffalo police officer whose battle with cancer led him to counsel others facing the disease, died Wednesday in his home. He was 50.
April 7, 1927—Feb. 8, 2012 Ruth A. Riccio of Cheektowaga, former owner of Buffalo Airpark, died Wednesday in Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. She was 84.
Oct. 2, 1933—Feb. 7, 2012 Thomas J. Deubell, a retired Buffalo police officer and former restaurant owner, died Tuesday in Mercy Hospital. He was 78.
Joseph L. Battista, 75, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, died Feb. 7. Lena (Seidel) Beiter, of Kenmore died Feb. 7. Mary Theresa Brombos, died Feb. 7.
Feb. 21, 1925—Feb. 7, 2012 Harvey K. Elsaesser of West Seneca, a former librarian for The Buffalo News who was known for his knowledge of local history, died Tuesday in St. Francis of Williamsville Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was 86.
May 14, 1926—Feb. 6, 2010 Raymond Philip Weil of Buffalo, aU. S. Navy veteran of WWII who helped build his father’s car dealership, co-founded the precursor to the Buffalo Bills Monday Quarterback Club and was passionate about family, sports and Nichols School, died Monday in Beechwood Continuing Care, Getzville, after a brief illness. He was 85.
