A recent article in Life&Arts about “The Color Purple” incorrectly stated that Buffalo-born actor Jesse Martin starred in the original Broadway production of the musical. Martin was part of the show’s earlier workshops but did not go on to the Broadway production.

John T. Kirk, author of “Ring the Bell,” lives in Forest, Va. A news item about his new book incorrectly stated his residence. Also, Kirk coached under Lou Saban at the University of Central Florida, not with the Bills.
