SILVER CREEK — An 11-year-old boy playing with two siblings and a friend slipped over a steep embankment at about 6 p. m. Friday and tumbled 70 feet into the chilly waters of Silver Creek.
Silver Creek police said the children were playing near Jaekle Avenue when Casey Seabolt lost his footing on the sheer gorge and fell into the shallow creek.
Firefighters rappeled down the embankment on the opposite side of the creek near Burgess Street as all-terrain vehicles made their way to the scene.
Casey was strapped to a backboard on a vehicle and driven to a waiting Starflight helicopter to be flown to Women and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, where he was undergoing treatment late Friday for multiple fractures.
His condition was unavailable.
