TOWN OF EVANS

Highway chief opposed by write-in candidate

Story tools:

Highway Superintendent Edward Michalski is the only candidate facing opposition in Evans on Tuesday—and his opponent is a write-in candidate.

Michalski is being challenged by Dominic Calandra, who announced his candidacy as a write-in candidate in early October after two attempts to get on the ballot. Michalski has the backing of the Democratic, Republican, Independence, Conservative and Working Family parties.

Jonica B. DiMartino is running for Town Clerk, a position held by Carol A. Meissner, who is retiring after 30 years.

Town Justice Timothy J. Cooper also is unopposed as is Receiver of Taxes and Assessments Diana A. Cafferty.
